FAQs

What should I expect from Online Counselling?

Online therapy sessions are a very convenient way of undergoing counselling if you are unable to attend our private practice consultancy rooms. Taking the first step is often the hardest as it can feel daunting initially. Building our therapeutic relationship is key to personal growth and lasting change. We offer a warm, safe and non-judgmental space for you to talk openly and freely.

After I make initial contact what happens next?

We contact you to schedule an initial FREE 10-minute telephone consultation. During our conversation, we will discuss what issues you are experiencing and your goals for therapy. We talk you through our counselling process, how it works and what to expect. It's a great opportunity for you to ask us any questions. If you want to work with us and we are confident we can help you, we can book our first assessment session.

How do I pay for our sessions?

Whether online or in-person therapy sessions at our private practice consultancy rooms, please pay in full 48 hours before your session begins. Fees are usually paid via bank transfer.

What happens if I cannot attend our pre-booked session?

If you need to cancel your appointment, there is no charge if you provide 48 hours' notice, or you will be charged in full.

Are our therapy sessions confidential and private?

As members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), we work within their ethical framework. Confidentiality underpins everything you discuss during our sessions. There are only a few exceptions to this where I am obliged to break confidentiality: if you disclose involvement in or knowledge of any criminal activities or if there is a safeguarding issue if you or any adult related to you or your child could potentially be under threat of harm or abuse.
